Vietnam Tour Package from Nepal — 7 Days Hanoi Ha Long Da Nang

Seven days, three regions, and one of the most underrated outbound trips from Nepal. Hanoi for the old quarter, Ha Long Bay for the overnight cruise, and Da Nang for the beach and the My Khe coast. From Kathmandu, the route connects through Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur, and the eVisa for a Nepali passport takes around three working days online.

Tour Overview

Why Vietnam from Nepal

Vietnam delivers more square kilometres of variety per day than almost any other Southeast Asian country. In one week you can stand on a limestone cliff over Ha Long Bay, walk a French-colonial street in Hanoi, and lay on a beach in Da Nang. The eVisa is fully online for Nepali passports, the food is among the best in Asia, and the cost is consistently lower than Thailand for similar quality. For Nepali travellers looking past the Bangkok and Bali default, this is the obvious next move.

Popular Vietnam packages from Kathmandu

Our most-booked Vietnam trip is the 6N7D Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and Da Nang circuit. The 4N5D Hanoi and Ha Long Bay is the short version for travellers with limited leave, anchored by the overnight cruise. The 9N10D North-to-South option adds Hue, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City for travellers who want the full country, and is the most-booked Vietnam itinerary for honeymoon couples and small friend groups.

Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and Da Nang

Hanoi is the historic north. Old Quarter walking, Hoan Kiem Lake, Train Street, and a water puppet show on the second evening. Ha Long Bay is the cruise night. We use 4-star overnight cruise boats with private cabins, kayaking inside the karst formations at sunset, and Tai Chi on the upper deck at dawn. Da Nang is the easy beach. My Khe Beach for the afternoons, Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge for the day trip, and Hoi An old town one hour south for a lantern-lit evening walk.

Vietnam visa for Nepali passport holders

The Vietnam eVisa for Nepali passports is one of the simpler online visas in the region. Apply at the official Vietnam Immigration eVisa portal at least 5 working days before travel. The fee is USD 25 for a 30-day single-entry stay. You will receive the eVisa as a PDF by email, which must be printed and carried at the Hanoi or Da Nang immigration counter. We handle the application for our travellers as part of the package.

Best time to travel

March and April, then October and November, are the strongest months for a full North-to-South Vietnam trip. The weather across regions is most consistent and the Ha Long cruise operates on full schedule. May through September is hot and humid, with afternoon thunderstorms in the south. December and January are good for the centre and the south, but Hanoi can be cool and grey, with reduced cruise availability in Ha Long Bay.

Packing tips for Vietnam from Nepal

Light cotton, a light rain jacket, walking shoes for the Hanoi old quarter, and water shoes for the Ha Long Bay kayak. A small daypack for the Ba Na Hills day trip. Power sockets are Type A, C and G, mostly compatible with Nepal plugs but bring a Type C adapter. Vietnamese dong runs in very large notes, carry small USD bills for tips, and use Grab for taxis to avoid the meter scams in Hanoi.

Frequently asked

Answers from our specialists

The things travellers ask most, answered by guides who lead these trips, not by a script.

  • Yes. Nepali passport holders need a Vietnam eVisa, applied through the official Vietnam Immigration eVisa portal at least 5 working days before travel. The fee is USD 25 for a 30-day single-entry stay. We file the application for travellers booked on our Vietnam packages.

  • Budget around NPR 125,000 per person for a 4N5D Hanoi and Ha Long Bay package on twin sharing, including return KTM-HAN flights via Bangkok, hotels, overnight cruise, transfers, and breakfast. The full 6N7D circuit with Da Nang starts at NPR 165,000.

  • All routes connect through Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur. The fastest option is Thai Airways or Vietnam Airlines via Bangkok, total travel time around 6 hours 30 minutes including the layover. AirAsia via Kuala Lumpur is the budget option.

  • Yes. We book licensed 4-star overnight cruise boats with private cabins, fire-safety certification, and on-board English-speaking crew. Children under 12 stay free in the parent cabin on most packages. We avoid the budget day-trip boats which do not meet our safety standard.

  • Yes, with planning. Vietnam has a strong Buddhist vegetarian tradition and most cities have dedicated vegetarian restaurants. We pre-book vegetarian meals on the Ha Long cruise and circuit, and our guides know which Hanoi old quarter restaurants serve true vegetarian pho and bun cha.
