Tour Overview
Why Singapore and Malaysia together
Singapore is one of the most-asked outbound destinations in our Kathmandu inquiries, but its hotel rates are steep for a full week. Malaysia is the natural counterweight. Three nights in Kuala Lumpur cost less than one night in Marina Bay, and the food, theme parks and shopping carry the same Southeast Asian flavour. The two together give a week that feels twice as long, with one international flight in and one international flight out.
Popular packages from Kathmandu
Our 6N7D KL and Singapore combo is the most-booked twin-country itinerary for Nepali travellers. Families with children prefer the 4N5D Singapore-only version built around Universal Studios and S.E.A. Aquarium. The 9N10D circuit adds Penang for travellers who want a heritage city break between the two capitals, with a Cameron Highlands tea estate diversion on request.
Kuala Lumpur, Genting and Singapore
Kuala Lumpur is the food-and-shopping base, with Petronas Twin Towers, Batu Caves at sunrise, and Bukit Bintang in the evening. Genting Highlands is the day trip, a cool hill station with the SkyAvenue mall and the casino floor for those who want it. Singapore is the polished week, with Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, Sentosa for Universal Studios and Adventure Cove, and Little India for a familiar evening meal. The KL to Singapore leg is best done as a 1-hour flight; the 5-hour coach saves money but costs a half-day.
Singapore and Malaysia visas for Nepali passport holders
Singapore does not offer visa on arrival for Nepali passports. You must apply through an authorised Singapore visa agent at least 10 working days before travel, with bank statements, hotel confirmations and an invitation if applicable. Malaysia is easier, with the official eVisa portal accepting Nepali applications, processed in 3 to 5 working days. We handle both visa filings as part of the package.
Best time to travel
February through April and July through September are the driest stretches across both countries. May and June bring afternoon thunderstorms but are excellent for hotel deals. November and December are also strong for Singapore's Christmas season at Gardens by the Bay, with shorter rain bursts. The Singapore Grand Prix in late September pushes hotel rates up sharply, so avoid the third week of September unless that is the trip you want.
Packing tips
Light cotton, a light sweater or shawl for over-air-conditioned malls and restaurants, and one set of slightly formal clothing for the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark dinner. Power adapter for Type G square-pin sockets, which is different from Nepal. Carry Singapore dollars only for incidentals, the country runs on cards and PayNow. Malaysia is more cash-friendly, but Grab and Touch n Go eWallet cover most of KL.
Frequently asked
Answers from our specialists
The things travellers ask most, answered by guides who lead these trips, not by a script.
Yes. Singapore does not offer visa on arrival for Nepali passport holders. You must apply through an authorised Singapore visa agent at least 10 working days before travel. We handle the filing, document compilation, and submission as part of the tour package.
Yes. Malaysia requires an eVisa or eNTRI for Nepali passport holders, applied through the official Malaysia eVisa portal. Processing takes 3 to 5 working days. We handle the application as part of the package.
Two options. A 1-hour AirAsia or Batik Air flight, included in our standard 6N7D package. A 5-hour cross-border coach via the Causeway, which saves money but takes a half-day and adds an immigration queue on each side. We default to the flight.
Yes, especially for families with children between 6 and 16. We pre-book Express passes for the high-demand rides like Battlestar Galactica and Transformers, which save 2 to 3 hours of queue time. Pair it with the S.E.A. Aquarium for a full Sentosa day.
Budget around NPR 165,000 per person for a 6N7D KL and Singapore package on twin sharing, including all flights, hotels, transfers, sightseeing, and breakfast. Visa fees for both countries are quoted separately, typically around USD 65 combined.
