Tour Overview

Why Europe from Nepal

Europe is the trip that gets planned, postponed, and finally booked. For Nepali travellers, the Schengen visa is the only real barrier, and it falls into place with the right paperwork. Once you have it, you have access to 27 countries on one sticker, more interconnected rail than India and a road network where you can drive from the Alps to the Mediterranean in a long day. We focus the standard package on the three countries that consistently deliver the most for a first European trip from Nepal: France for the museums, Switzerland for the mountains, and Italy for the history.

Popular Europe packages from Kathmandu

Our 9N10D Paris, Switzerland and Italy is the signature first-time Europe trip from Nepal. The 7N8D Paris and Switzerland is a tighter version for travellers with limited leave. The 10N11D Eastern Europe heritage circuit through Prague, Vienna, Budapest and Krakow is the smarter-priced alternative, with the same Schengen visa but a significantly lower hotel and meal cost.

Paris, Switzerland and Italy

Paris is the museum and monument day. Eiffel Tower, Louvre with a pre-booked Mona Lisa slot, Seine river dinner cruise, and a day to Versailles or Disneyland. Switzerland is the high country. Jungfraujoch Top of Europe by train from Interlaken, Mount Titlis from Engelberg, and an evening on Lake Lucerne. Italy is the layered history. Venice gondola and St Mark's Square, Florence Uffizi, Pisa leaning tower, Rome Colosseum and Vatican with a guided tour. Travel between countries is by high-speed rail with our pre-booked seats, no airport transfers needed inside Europe.

Schengen visa for Nepali passport holders

The Schengen visa is the single biggest part of a Europe trip from Nepal. Apply at the embassy of the first country you enter or the country where you spend most nights. For our standard Paris-Switzerland-Italy package, this is France. The application goes through the VFS Global centre in Kathmandu, with a backup option in Delhi for tighter processing windows. Required documents are extensive but standard, and we walk every client through the file before submission. Plan for 15 to 20 working days, longer in May and June.

Best time to travel

May, June and September are the strongest months. Days are long, the Alps are clear, and Italian heat is not yet at its worst. July and August bring crowds and 35 degrees in Rome, but daylight stretches past 9pm. December is excellent for Christmas markets in Switzerland and Germany, with snow already on Jungfraujoch. Avoid January and February unless you specifically want winter and you have a longer trip planned.

Packing tips for Europe from Nepal

Layered clothing for sudden weather changes, especially in Switzerland where mountain weather can shift in an hour. A medium-thick jacket for the Jungfraujoch summit even in July. Power adapters for Type C, E and F sockets across the three countries. Carry euros in small denominations, larger notes are often refused at smaller cafes. Pre-load Google Maps offline maps for the entire trip and a multi-country eSIM, since roaming on Nepali numbers is expensive.

Frequently asked

Answers from our specialists

The things travellers ask most, answered by guides who lead these trips, not by a script.

  • Yes. Nepali passport holders need a Schengen visa to enter any of the 27 Schengen countries. Apply at the embassy or VFS Global centre of the first country you enter or where you spend the most nights. Processing typically takes 15 to 20 working days. We handle the full file preparation and submission.

  • Budget around NPR 425,000 per person for our signature 9N10D Paris, Switzerland and Italy package on twin sharing, including return KTM-CDG flights via Doha or Dubai, internal high-speed rail, 4-star hotels, breakfast and most dinners, and guided sightseeing. The Schengen visa, travel insurance, and personal expenses are billed separately.

  • It is the most expensive country in the standard package, but we control costs by basing in Interlaken or Lucerne instead of Zurich, using the Swiss Travel Pass for unlimited rail, and booking apartment-style hotels for groups of four. Even so, expect Switzerland to be the most expensive leg of any European trip.

  • Around 12 hours 30 minutes total, with one connection. The most common routings are Qatar Airways via Doha, Turkish Airlines via Istanbul, or Etihad via Abu Dhabi. Direct flights from Kathmandu to Europe are not currently operated.

  • Yes, with the right pacing. We use slower city-to-city transfers, one rest day per country, central hotels within walking distance of major sights, and a private vehicle in each city instead of public transport. Wheelchairs can be arranged through airline and rail providers with 48 hours notice.
