Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to the trailhead at Kande, located at an altitude of 1,770 meters. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours by private or public vehicle. From Kande, the trek starts with a steady ascent through lush forests and traditional villages. You’ll pass through Australian Camp, a scenic viewpoint offering early glimpses of the Annapurna range. After a short break, continue trekking through gentle ridges and wooded paths until you reach Pritam Deurali, your stop for the night. The total trekking time today is about 4 to 5 hours. Settle into a cozy teahouse and enjoy the tranquility of the mountains.
After breakfast, begin your trek towards Low Camp, passing through dense rhododendron forests that come alive in spring. The trail gradually gains elevation and becomes more secluded, offering a peaceful trekking experience. Along the way, you will pass Forest Camp, where a short rest can be taken. As you ascend, the forest begins to thin out and views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South emerge in full glory. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Low Camp, perched on the ridgeline with a stunning mountain backdrop. The trek takes approximately 6 to 7 hours. Rest overnight at a teahouse and enjoy the crisp mountain air.
Today’s trek takes you further up the ridge with expansive views throughout the route. Departing from Low Camp, you’ll trek via Badal Danda (3,210m), a scenic plateau where clouds often float below you, creating a surreal atmosphere. The trail opens up as you move above the tree line, offering unbroken views of the Annapurna range and the iconic Machhapuchhre. The final stretch to High Camp is relatively steep but rewarding. High Camp, located at 3,580 meters, is your launch point for the base camp ascent. After arriving in the afternoon, take time to rest, acclimatize, and soak in the surrounding grandeur.
Wake up early for a pre-dawn hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp, the highlight of the trek. The trail is rugged and steep in parts but navigable, and the effort is well worth it. As the sun rises, the mountains light up in golden hues, revealing a spectacular 360-degree panorama that includes Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and Machhapuchhre. After spending time at the base camp, return to High Camp for breakfast. Continue descending to Badal Danda where you will spend the night. The day involves 4–5 hours of trekking to base camp and another 4–5 hours of descent.
On the final day, you’ll trek downhill through forests and small traditional villages, reaching Sidhing (1,750m) in approximately 3 to 4 hours. From there, a jeep will take you back to Pokhara, a 2 to 3 hour drive through rural landscapes and hillside communities. The journey concludes with your arrival in Pokhara, where you can rest or explore the lakeside town at your leisure.
